One of the UK’s prettiest historic villages, North Bovey is made up of a medieval church, a handful of thatched cottages clustered around an oak-shaded green and a traditional pub, complete with real ales, hearty local food and a roaring fire. The village is rural, safe and peaceful; the only sounds are of birdsong, church bells and the occasional clip clopping of horses’ hooves.
The cottage is made for romance. Oak-beamed walls, sheepskin rugs and an inglenook log fireplace make it country-cottage cosy, while shimmering wallpapers, ornate mirrors and a huge copper bath for two add a dose of boutique hotel-style glamour. Romantic touches include Molton Brown toiletries, fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, scented candles and freshly cut flowers. Glossy magazines and complimentary Sunday papers are all part of the luxury.
Although the thatched cottage is a peaceful retreat, you don’t have to leave the modern world behind; gadgeteers are well catered for: a Sonos digital music system with Spotify allows you to listen to virtually any track ever produced, there’s Sky TV with Sky Plus recording, a Blu-Ray/DVD player, movie library, Apple Mac computer, wifi and iPod docks.
Freshly cut flowers, Molton Brown cosmetics, White Company Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy towels and scented candles make it one of the most romantic cottages in the UK, with complimentary glossy magazines and Sunday papers all part of the luxury.
For those in need of TLC, we offer a range of optional extras, including a private chef, organic food deliveries, breakfast starter boxes and West Country food hampers. Lovebirds should check out the cottage’s romantic packages. All guests have complimentary membership of Bovey Castle country club, with its pool, spa, tennis courts and golf course (green fees apply), and 10% off food, drink and spa treatments.
